Intraspecific variation within Viola pubescens Regionally and Locally

چکیده
Viola pubescens, the downy yellow violet, is a common species of plant found across eastern North America. My research focused on intraspecific variation within two varieties viola pubescens: pubescens var. and scabriscula. I examined climate trait data United States (regionally), compared Indiana (locally) between sites that are just few miles apart. The result indicated regional scale, not significant differences in their or traits. However, this can also mean variables other than environmental factors have affected varieties. Between local sites, were fruit color hairiness. site, Lower Cascades, only produced green with no hair. While showed (ranging from to purple) hairiness (amount hair present fruit), Cascades its phenotype. This could lead further study genetic By having an exceeding understanding strucutre we better visualize scale at which plants adapting responding environment.

INTRASPECIFIC VARIATION OF Bothrops pubescens (COPE, 1869) VENOM IN URUGUAY (SERPENTES: VIPERIDAE)
In Uruguay, there was no information about the variations degree in Bothrops pubescens venoms until the present work, in which we investigated intraspecific venom variation using polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). We found some differences in the venom protein profile; however, they were not related to the parameters studied (geographic distribution, weight, sex, and captivity time)...
متن کاملGeographic intraspecific variation in buoyancy within Antarctic notothenioid fishes
We investigated intraspecific geographic variation in buoyancy by obtaining percentage buoyancy (%B) measurements for the Antarctic notothenioid species Pleuragramma antarcticum, Trematomus hansoni, T. bernacchii and Gymnodraco acuticeps from both McMurdo Sound in East Antarctica and the South Shetland Islands in West Antarctica. Mean percentage buoyancies in these species ranged from 0.22–0.52...
متن کاملBiodiversity and intraspecific genetic variation
Biodiversity is mostly discussed at the level of species, but genetic variation within species may be as important as variation between species. It enables organisms to adapt to environmental changes. The requirement for genetic variation differs however widely between species and groups of species. Animal species at the top of the food web, such as large carnivorous mammals, tend to have a rem...
متن کاملIntraspecific variation and species coexistence.
We use a two-species model of plant competition to explore the effect of intraspecific variation on community dynamics. The competitive ability ("performance") of each individual is assigned by an independent random draw from a species-specific probability distribution. If the density of individuals competing for open space is high (e.g., because fecundity is high), species with high maximum (o...

The aim of the study was to investigate the efficacy of concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) in patients with locally and/or regionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Between February 2005 and November 2007, 27 patients with advanced NPC were included in a prospective study of CCRT at the Radiotherapy and Oncology Institute in Skopje. Radiotherapy was performed using a sophisticated th...
